Our client was given notice to leave her home because of anti social behaviour by her ex partner who she had allowed to stay for a short while and arrears of rent. The Housing Association told her not to bother seeking advice and that they would be evicting her. After seeking advice from Moss & Co it became apparent that the landlord had no good grounds for possession and that there was disrepair at the property.
We made representations on our client’s behalf. She not only kept her home but also received backdated awards of Housing Benefit. We asked for compensation from her housing association for the disrepair at the property which cleared the rest of her arrears.
