Possession of Cannabis with intent to supply – Crown Court Acquittal

Our client was arrested after police had attended a house in which he was present along with 3 other people. The police found approximately £8000 worth of cannabis in the premises and so all 4 people were arrested for possession with intent to supply a class B drug. The Defendant was charged with an offence of possession with intent to supply a class B drug because his fingerprints were found on some wrappings that contained cannabis. The Defendant’s  case was that the cannabis belonged to a fifth person who had left the premises shortly before the police had arrived and that he was only present to buy a small amount for himself. After a trial lasting 5 days in the Crown Court the Defendant was acquitted of all charges.
